Im currently experiencing a freezing game followed by a blackscreen with no wait out besides restarting my computer; my monitor then loses signal and displays no signal. Everytime I launch it goes straight to a black screen and stops responding completely to the point I have to restart my pc My specs are way about the minimum so that isn't the problem. If that does not help, you can try temporarily uninstalling Avast and seeing if that does the trick. Then after i restart and try to run Overwatch again 95% of the time it will work. If I try to restart it again it does the same thing.
I always used my monitor on 75Hz so I thought if i change it back on 60Hz it will solve the problem. Infact switching from 75Hz to 60 Hz fixed the problem of overwatch black window problem for me. You can also try running the game in Windowed mode. So i tryed many things to fix this problem on my notebook and nothing worked so i went back to basics. You can access this option through the Geforce Experience Desktop Application.

Leaving this up for people with similar issues. Blizzard seems to have some problem with custom refresh rates. Every time I startup Overwatch, I am met with a blank black screen with no sound. When I launch the application it opens to nothing but a black screen. All my drivers are completely up to date and i can't think of anything else to try, i would really appreciate some help with this, cheers.
Yep, first thing I did. Blizzard has been busy today trying to fix most of the launch related issues which can be found while more fixes will be released on priority basis. Try running your system in. . If you are on Windows 10, please Please also disable GameBar and GameMode functions if you are on the Creators Build If you have Geforce Experience installed, please disable Nvidia Share. Another reason is graphic card updates for Nvidia cards.
I've tried turning off all overclocks, closing unneeded background programs and anti virus, nothing seems to help and it's really starting to get annoying and i can't find anyone else with the same issue anywhere online. The problem is with a set custom resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel!! I find that going into the game settings on Battlenet before I start the game and telling it to reset the game settings to default will get it to work. Try to run the game using a single display device. All my drivers are fine, ive reinstalled as well. Perhaps we can work that one out. Let's reset the in game user options: 1. Coming back from a 1 week break, I tried to play some Overwatch. You need to upgrade you rig to meet the above mentioned requirements.
